Beating Perfectionism

Imperfectly overcoming the addiction of perfectionism

About me when I decided to create this blog…

My name is Monica and I’m a 42-year-old perfectionist working toward recovery. I’m a married mother of three children; Jake (22), Josh (21), and Brooklyn (6). (Because I know you’re wondering – yes, she was planned!) I’m currently a Regional Manager for a large health system overseeing the management of 7 medical clinics in my area.

As part of my journey to recovery from perfectionism, I’ve decided to start this personal blog for a couple of specific reasons. The first is to use this as a journal in hopes of releasing my thoughts and never looking back. The other reason is to serve as practice on meeting goals I’ve set for myself, staving off my “go-to” of perfecting my creativity and writing to the point it all gets deleted or left unfinished and forgotten. Honestly, I’m just putting myself out there, having no clue how to blog, no experience with writing, and no expectations of attracting followers. I have no interest in this becoming a source of income so you’re not going to see ads or fancy site work that costs money. I’m breaking the unspoken rule of personal blogging by writing to my computer and the great cyber abyss.

If you’ve read this far, then I appreciate your support! You’re welcome to keep reading, and who knows…maybe this will help someone else.

XoXo – Monica
